In the right hands, clay doesn't just take form, it begins to think.

The quiet dialogue between maker and material can yield objects so arresting they seem to hold both mystery and breath. One such artist is Jane Yang-D'Haene, Korean-born and US-based, whose work bridges continents, histories and emotion.

Best known for her stoneware vessels inspired by Korean heritage, Yang-D'Haene has made the dal hang-ari or moon jar, central to her practice. Traditionally crafted from two hemispheres of clay joined into a glowing porcelain sphere, the moon jar carries both fragility and completeness.
