Even before he stepped out on the field alongside the big boys last season, Vaibhav Suryavanshi had registered his first record—at 13 years, he became the youngest to earn an IPL contract when he was signed by the Rajasthan Royals. He announced his arrival with a monster knock of 101 runs off 38 balls against an experienced Gujarat Titans bowling attack. More records tumbled—the youngest centurion with the second-fastest ton in IPL history. He continued his blistering form for India in July, scoring a 52-ball century against England U-19, the fastest youth ODI hundred. With Suryavanshi’s rise, expect statisticians to have sleepless nights soon.
