In recent years we've seen many guitar amplification designs leveraging Class D technology to produce lots of watts from unfeasibly small packages.

However, it's still generally accepted that higher-powered valve amps continue to be heavy and cumbersome. Blackstar's St James range changed that perception overnight, with two pairs of full-on 50-watt valve heads and combos driven by a choice of EL34 or 6L6 output stages, which you can pick up with one finger.
