Hong Kong pianist triumphs in Van Cliburn Competition

Given the many hours he'll be spending practising and rehearsing, not to mention travelling around the globe from concert hall to concert hall, Aristo Sham will possibly not have a lot of time for shopping in the foreseeable future.
Should he do so, however, he will now have an extra $100,000 (£74,000) to spend, as the winner of the Seventeenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. In addition to his sizeable cash prize, the Hong Kong Chinese pianist will also enjoy substantial career support that includes international concert engagements, a live recording for the Platoon label and even performance attire from the Texas-based designer outfit Neiman Marcus.
