A WALKING tour in Orkney brings you 5,000 years of history in one afternoon. This route explores several monuments of the UNESCO-recognised Heart of Neolithic Orkney, which was designated a World Heritage Site due to its outstanding universal value.

The journey begins with Maeshowe chambered burial cairn, frequently described as the finest Neolithic building in north-west Europe. Access to the cairn is only possible with a guided tour, starting at the visitor centre.
