The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts pulled out all the stops for its annual fundraising gala on October 21, transforming the Academy Lyric Theatre for a celebration of passion.

This year’s theme, Rouges, channelled the theatrical energy of Moulin Rouge and the evening delivered on its promise of drama, dance and more than a few proud parent moments. Co-chaired by Charmaine Ho and Maya Lin, the event welcomed more than 200 guests, including Vivian Sum, permanent secretary for culture, sports and tourism, and Legislative Council member Kenneth Fok. But the real stars of the evening? The students themselves, who proved that the academy's reputation for nurturing exceptional talent is well deserved.
