It's famously the first NCIS spin-off to be set outside of the US – and Australia remains as much a central character in NCIS: Sydney as the actual humans! Or so says William McInnes, who has played forensic pathologist Dr Roy Penrose since the show's launch in 2023.

William and Todd Lasance, who stars as AFP Sergeant Jim ‘JD’ Dempsey, tell New Idea the upcoming third season is even more action-packed than the first two combined.

“This show is insane,” says Todd. “It’s so full on – but in a good way!”

TODD: This is the season of revelations for JD. He is forced to carry a dark secret from the team, but is also confronted with an extraordinary personal loss.
