Nicole Kidman and Renée Zellweger have remained loyal friends since hitting it off on the chilly set of Cold Mountain almost 25 years ago. While the A-list actresses have not acted together since, insiders say the duo have always had each other's backs, sometimes if only from afar.

“Renée’s got this infectious energy,” Nicole told Vanity Fair in 2004. “We clicked instantly – she’s real, no pretence.”

Likewise, Renée didn’t hold back on her admiration for Nicole, gushing during Cold Mountain’s press tour: “Nicole’s just lovely. We’d talk about everything – life, love, the chaos of filming in the middle of nowhere. She’s someone you instantly feel comfortable with.”
