People in New Jersey ARE LIVING LONGER - NEW REPORT FINDS

At 79 years, New Jersey has one of the highest life expectancies in the nation, as of 2021.

That’s fifth in the United States, according to the latest National Vital Statistics Report released Aug. 21 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The report calculates the life expectancy in all 50 states and the District of Columbia using final mortality statistics, Census data and Medicare data for people ages 66 to 99.

The data suggests the overall health of residents is rebounding after a period of decline.

imageNew Jersey was one of just 11 states that saw an increase in life expectancy from 2020 to 2021, according to the latest national health data.
