My name is Lesedi Nape, known as The Woodź, a multidisciplinary artist on a continuous journey of self-expression and discovery. My musical journey started with soulful tunes at home, sparking my curiosity in different genres. Music’s power to evoke emotions and transcend language barriers intrigued me, leading me to pursue the art of storytelling through music.
Could you talk us through your creative process when composing or writing a new piece of music?
My music-making process changes based on context and intent. When creating for myself, I begin with a feeling that shapes the approach and mood. I use my understanding of sounds and tones to evoke the desired emotion.
