The Hamilton Rhapsody
August Man SG
|Issue 201
Arguably The Most Popular Musical In Recent Memory, Hamilton Has Finally Debuted In Singapore. Of Course, We Have To Do Our Review In Rap/Verse.
Before we begin and look in-to Hamilton’s good and bad, I must preface that I am as much a rap ace as Donald Trump’s dad, These views are mine, you might disagree, you might think me mad I give Hamilton in MBS seven stars out of ten, it’s not that bad.
I’m critical of the musical but I must get paradoxical Because as a spectacle receptacle, it’s incomparable There are show-stopping tunes to restart cold hearts And the stars are stellar at their respective parts
DeAndre is in and out of the Woods as Aaron Burr Anger to jealousy to diplomacy without error He’s hand-to-my-bullet the most engaging character Even when he’s not the most consistent performer
Brent Hill steals thunder as King George, you can’t miss He’s like an uppity Thenardier from my fave, Les Mis He plays it snooty, but he won’t take the piss The Donald Trump comparisons are there, I promise you this.
