Jacob & Co., in partnership with Sincere Fine Watches, has opened its first boutique in Singapore, bringing some of the most mechanically outstanding watches in horology to our shores.

TO A CASUAL OBSERVER, Jacob & Co. is all about spectacle. You could be forgiven for thinking that its watches are purely stages for mechanical theatre. The Astronomia collection is perhaps the most famous, with the Astronomia Tourbillon being one of the timepieces that best encapsulates its signature theatricality—a miniature cosmos beneath a domed sapphire crystal where a triple-axis tourbillon, a spherical Jacob-cut diamond “moon,” and a magnesium Earth globe orbit on a four-armed carriage in perpetual motion.

Similarly impressive in its theatrics is the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon, which features a working, miniaturised replica of a W16 engine block that actually pumps up and down on command. For those who prefer cinematic inspiration, the Opera models, like the Godfather or Scarface editions, incorporate a triple-axis tourbillon, a music box playing the relevant theme song, and even a tiny sculpture of the protagonist.
