It is eccentric, evocative, and for some a little extreme but for the homeowners, the whimsical, yet layered narrative by Kavan Shah was everything they needed to make the house a home

When your sibling is an interior designer, you know you can push their buttons a tad more than their usual clients. But Sahil and Jahnvi Shah didn't have to do much given that Kavan Shah had the map of this home literally on the back of his hand. Having lived in the same apartment complex, Kavan was familiar with the existing layout of the home. "When I first walked in, it was like a white box, which to me appeared like a large canvas waiting to be brushed with colour," says Kavan. Walking into this 1,200 sq ft home in one of the busiest suburbs of Mumbai is like stepping into a box of beautiful crayons, which Kavan has shaped and sharpened to create a beautiful work of art for his brother and sister-in-law.
