WHEN ARCHITECTS HIRE ARCHITECTS
Livingetc India
|August 2025
A collaborative home by Aslam Sham Architects in Kerala ensures the result is evergreen
When two sets of architects design a home together — one as the professional and the other as the client — you could almost expect creative clashes to follow.
Yet, this serene 3,500 sq ft home set amid a thick sprawl of green in Kothamangalam, Kerala, proves otherwise. Instead of getting pulled in many different directions, the home is singular in focus: unpretentious and entirely in tune with the family's life and landscape. That clarity comes from the collaboration between architects Aslam Karadan and Sham Salim of Aslam Sham Architects, and their longtime friend, client, and fellow architect, Deepthi John.
