Neytt is bringing the rich tapestry of Kerala to the fore through intricately woven rugs by local artisans and weavers

Back in 2023, apart from celebrities, an Indian brand that made waves internationally at the coveted Met Gala in New York was Neytt — a homegrown rug label from Kerala. Founded during the pandemic by husband-wife duo Sivan Santhosh and Nimisha Srinivas, Neytt showcases the craftsmanship of south India with a modern touch. In a short span of time, the brand has made its mark in the design world, winning coveted awards and bringing global recognition to various aspects of Kerala. “When we founded Neytt, we wanted the brand to be very different from all our competitors. The idea of starting it came from a rug designed by Nimisha during the Kerala floods of 2019. It was a design that told the story of how the people of the state stood together to overcome the calamity. Since then, all our creations have a unique story associated with them from the perspective of the designers or the artisans,” shares Santhosh.
