She ushers us into her home, housed in a heritage bungalow, that sits inconspicuously among similar homes dotting the lane. An earthy yet floral fragrance fills the home much in sync with her style, like a home in the mountains — elegant, understated and rooted. “As much as I hate to admit it, I think my style is evolving more and more like that of my mother,” she says in mock exasperation barely masked with pride, as she shows us around her beautifully appointed home.
