Tucked within the Palace Grounds in Bengaluru, a 150-year-old royal outhouse has been thoughtfully restored by Studio Detailine, transforming the 1,930 sq ft structure into a home that honours its history while embracing new memories. Leanne Alcasoas and Elizabeth Joseph, of Studio Detailine, discovered the space by chance, drawn to its forgotten charm and the quiet solitude old buildings hold. “Imagine if we got to restore this,” they mused, capturing the moment in a quick photo. Just two weeks later, a serendipitous call from the property owners turned that fleeting thought into a full-circle commission.
