Forging a new chapter with K2India, mother-daughter duo, Sunita and Kohelika Kohli are creating a new vocabulary of design in the country
-
It was a cold winter morning in Delhi as we walked into Sunita Kohli's tastefully done up living room. There she was, statuesque by the bookshelf rearranging the art pieces, gracefully moving the tuberoses a few inches away from its current position. “I love having fresh flowers, and I like them placed here,” says Sunita, asking us to feel at home while she finishes the last minute touches for a place setting consisting of vintage silver trays for a dinner she’s hosting later that night.
She wears the title of being the country's first interior designer to be awarded the Padma Shri lightly. She's excited about her latest book, 'The India Cookbook, from the tables of my friends', which is more than a collection of recipes it is a tome on how culture can be viewed from the intimate lens of food we eat.
