If working from home is now part of your daily routine, finding space to create an office is going to be on the agenda. If you are building your own house, or planning a major remodel or extension project, you're in a great position to design in a bespoke home office or space to work, rather than shoehorning it into an existing home. But while a dedicated study is the ideal, for most of us the room that we work from will have to serve a number of tasks.

And it isn't all about size. "Home study areas can be incorporated into even the smallest of areas in the home," says Cari Bateman, designer at Neville Johnson. "As long as there's dedicated storage for all your home office needs, then it won't impact the function of other areas in the home."
