Soaring inflation, fuel costs and energy price rises mean that homeowners are actively striving for ways to lower their bills. And when it comes to energy this is easier said than done — the cost of electricity spiked in 2022, going from 18.9 pence per kWh in 2021 to 34 pence per kWh in October 2022.

Energy-inefficient boilers, dishwashers and other household appliances can guzzle up gas and electricity, which is bad news for the environment as well as your wallet. So could switching to energy-efficient appliances actually make a difference to your energy bills?
