August is generally the time of year when we decide to go away on holiday - which means many gardens will be left at a time when it's crucial to keep A on top of tending them. If you can, persuade your friends, families, or a neighbour to keep an eye on the watering while you are away.

This salad can be sown directly outside in summer and you can pinch out leaves as little as three weeks later. It will practically grow anywhere, just ensure the ground is kept moist (not too wet) and that you protect it from slugs.
