Annabelle Gfeller creates another world on canvases at her Sydney home where she mixes it up style-wise.

Artist Annabelle Gfeller lives in Sydney's east with her partner David, daughter Gaia, son Raphael, dog Rocco and cat Cino. She works from her studio at the back of the property, where she can freely express her love of nature, travel, spirituality and jewel-like colours.

WHAT APPEALED TO YOU ABOUT YOUR HOME WHEN YOU FIRST SAW IT? The house has an old-world charm reminiscent of an Italian villa, which I guess isn't to everyone's taste, but for me it was like I had manifested my dream home! The garden has been designed to wrap around it and this creates a multitude of intimate spaces. Rough rendered walls, limestone flooring and French-style casement windows give the place a real depth and warmth that is hard to explain until you live in it. I also loved the seamless flow between inside and out, allowing the garden and pool to take centrestage. It definitely comes into its own in summer.
