Sometimes, what starts out as a modest decorating project can snowball into a full-blown renovation, and that was certainly the case with this villa in The Hague owned by Anglo-Dutch couple Julian and Karen Griffiths. Karen met interior designer Madelon Oudshoorn Spaargaren (mosinteriors.nl) by chance at the top of a mountain in Nepal and they chatted about redecorating her bedroom. When Madelon came to see it, I suggested she also look at the attic and then we discussed the living area... it just went from there,' laughs Karen.
