These are not all monumental rarities, but, rather, winners of the vintage commemorative popularity contest.

1. 1928 HAWAIIAN SESQUICENTENNIAL COMMEMORATIVE HALF DOLLAR

The mystique of the 1928 Hawaiian Sesquicentennial half dollar (9,950 manufactured or minted) makes this the number one U.S.

commemorative coin. This coin is sought after in the circulated or lightly worn grade of Extremely Fine condition (grades 40 and 45). Higher-grade examples are in demand, too. But this coin is especially popular as a lightly circulated example. The About Uncirculated-58 grade has always been a favorite of mine in every series, as many of these coins are original Uncirculated examples with the slightest trace of friction.
