NEW PHYSICAL BITCOINS AS GOOD AS GOLD?

Both bitcoin and gold have hit record highs in recent months and show no signs of retreat. As of August 2025, bitcoin is trading at $116,000 while gold is just under $3,400 per ounce. These prices reflect staggering year-over-year gains, including a 104% increase for bitcoin and a 41% increase for gold. This type of growth makes it easy to see why both these categories are extremely popular among collectors and investors. While the most conventional way of entering these categories involves "generic" formats-bullion coins and bars for gold and ETF equivalents for bitcoin-each category also offers collectible counterparts that introduce elements of rarity and historic significance.

Collectible versions of gold need no introduction and have been prized since time immemorial. Today’s numismatists will likely be familiar with the Liberty Head and St. Gaudens coins struck by the United States Mint in the 19th and 20th centuries that offer an enticing balance of historic significance and intrinsic value. Introduced only a few years ago, we are seeing that these similar concepts are emerging within the category of physical bitcoins that encapsulate the digital bitcoin currency inside a collectible physical token.
