Emancipation of Women

Navratri, celebrated over nine nights, honours Goddess Durga - the symbol of strength, wisdom, and compassion. It signifies the triumph of good over evil, and reminds us of the power women inherently possess.

A woman embodies empathy, resilience, passion, honesty, and acceptance. She is often ruled by the heart, balancing multiple roles and expectations. On this sacred occasion, in our Couples Class, we reflected on the emancipation of women- a topic discussed by Professor Pratibha Naithani of St.Xavier's College, renowned for her activism and dedication to women’s welfare. She has championed causes like protecting victims of abuse, regulating adult content on television, and supporting burn and birth defect survivors.

Emancipation means educating, empowering, and enabling women to live with freedom, dignity, and choice. A woman seeks respect, trust, and love, and gives her heart and soul in return. Though women today can study and work, they still shoulder dual responsibilities - managing careers and homes. True liberation does not merely mean employment; it means equality of opportunity and freedom from restrictive social expectations.
