David Frost's extraordinary archive of interviews gets a fascinating new airing

NEW FACTUAL
David Frost Vs
Sunday, 9pm, Sky Documentaries & Sky Showcase (box set, Sky Box Sets/NOW)
During his 50-year career, David Frost conducted more than 10,000 TV interviews with pop icons and sports stars, as well as eight British prime ministers and seven US presidents. His infamous 1977 audience with the disgraced Richard Nixon following the Watergate scandal is arguably the biggest televised political interview in history.
Now, in Sky's new series David Frost Vs, made in collaboration with his son, Sky News presenter Wilfred Frost, we get to witness some of his eye-opening archive interviews with Muhammad Ali, Jane Fonda and The Beatles, starting with a rare chat with a young Paul McCartney in 1964.

'Dad died 12 years ago this summer and we wanted to celebrate his legacy, says Wilfred, 39. 'He had a front-row seat at the most important moments as the post-war world unfolded, so this is a series about those moments in history.
"There was a 48-year span from Dad's first interview with Paul McCartney in 1964 and the last one he did with Paul in 2012, just a few months before Dad died.
