SEARCH & RESCUE

Acclaimed post-apocalyptic drama Paradise returns for a second season of twists and thrills this week, and we rejoin US Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K Brown) as he embarks on a personal and perilous new quest.

We last saw Xavier leaving Paradise, the underground bunker in Colorado where 25,000 elite members of society have been taken to survive a cataclysmic climate event, after learning that his wife Teri (Enuka Okuma) was still alive.

Now, after three years of thinking that Teri was dead when a nuclear bomb devastated Atlanta, he’s venturing out into the dangerous surface world to find her...

‘For Xavier to leave his children in Paradise, his goal has to be succinct and clear, because if it’s not, he would never have left,’ says This Is Us star Brown, 49. ‘It’s a red-hot desire that no one can deter him from. Finding Teri is a necessity, not an option.’

Xavier was told that everyone outside Paradise had perished in the global catastrophe, but viewers now know that 55 million Americans have survived.
