As crime drama The Gone returns with a thrilling second season on BBC2, Irish cop Theo Richter and Maori detective Diana Huia are ready to move mountains to solve a chilling missing-person's case that hits close to home for both of them.

At the end of the first run (available on BBC iPlayer), Theo (Richard Flood) was on the verge of leaving New Zealand town Mount Affinity with his love interest and journalist Aileen Ryan (Carolyn Bracken), having solved the kidnap case of a young Irish couple.

Picking up directly from the climax of Season 1, the new six-part run doesn't pause for breath as Theo suspects that Aileen is in grave danger...

'Season 2 starts exactly where we finished. Theo's in the airport and he's calling and calling Aileen but not getting any response,' says Grey's Anatomy star Flood, who plays the Dublin detective. 'He makes a decision to head to the police station for help.'
