DS John Rebus' investigations into Edinburgh's gang violence are growing increasingly complicated by his brother Michael's involvement in the deadly events and matters reach crisis point in the penultimate episode of BBC crime drama Rebus.

Desperate, cash-strapped former soldier Michael (Brian Ferguson) has turned to a life of crime to make ends meet, and when he and his friends intercepted a drugs deal involving violent gangster Ger Cafferty (Stuart Bowman), Michael shot the nephew of one of Ger's Northern Irish paramilitary associates.
