The 10-parter follows compassionate but brash third-year resident Danielle ‘Danny’ Simms (Willa Fitzgerald), who receives a sudden promotion at Maguire Hospital after her much-admired boss Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell) is suspended. But just as rumours of Danny’s illicit, complex relationship with Xander — who comes from a powerful medical family - begin to send shock waves through the ER, doctors find themselves facing an influx of trauma cases when a terrifying hurricane hurtles towards Miami.
