Paul Merton and Ian Hislop celebrate 35 years of Have I Got News for You
NEW ENTERTAINMENT
Have I Got News for You
Friday, 9pm, BBC1
With its razor-sharp wit, irreverent attitude to current affairs and a revolving door of quality guests, Have I Got News for You has been must-see Friday-night TV ever since its debut on 28 September 1990. As the show returns to celebrate its 35th anniversary (and 70th series), Victoria Coren Mitchell is in the hosting hot seat as team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton take a satirical look at the week's biggest news stories.
Here, the duo share their highlights from working together...
What are your standout moments from the show's history?
Merton Ian once told a joke in Latin - there's no other series on the BBC that masquerades as a prime-time show and would feature a joke in Latin.
