HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A CHIEFS LOVE STORY

SATURDAY, NOV. 30, 8/7c Romance is sweeping up stars Hunter King (Life in Pieces) and Tyler Hynes (above, with King) in this crowd-pleasing movie set in the Chiefs' hometown of Kansas City, where football, holiday festivities and the NFL's most famous mother, Donna Kelce, make for a winning combination. Here, King gamely gives us the score.

Tell us about your character, Alana.

Alana is a Chiefs superfan. She and her family are the biggest fans you can imagine. They're trying to win the Fan of the Year award, which is very important to her and her family's legacy. Then she meets Derrick [Hynes], who is the director of fan engagement, and a love story blossoms.

imageHow was it having Hynes as your leading man?

Tyler's amazing. He's a Hallmark pro. He's so easy to work with and just bounce ideas off of. I feel like we work really well together.

You got to film at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. How wild was that?

Oh, it's the coolest thing. We went there to shoot some promos, and my mouth was just open, jaw on the floor the whole time walking around. There is something about Kansas City; there's just this magic.

How do you usually celebrate Christmas?

I love to go to Disneyland around Christmas. And I usually make a bunch of desserts with my family. My sister Joey makes a great pecan pie. So I just eat a lot during the holidays, which is how I celebrate. [Laughs]

THE ROAD

“I'll be honest, I wasn’t exactly dying to do another singing show,” admits Blake Shelton, who was a coach on The Voice for 23 seasons before departing in 2023. So why did the country superstar want to join a brand-new competition series? “[Executive producer] Lee Metzger and I started kicking around this idea: What if we built a show that actually looked like what it takes to make it as an artist?” Shelton explains. “Sleeping on buses, playing for crowds that didn’t buy a ticket to see you, writing songs that may or may not pay the bills. That’s real.”
