DAVID BOREANAZ IS READY FOR A BREAK

AFTER NEARLY THREE DECADES IN BACK-TO-BACK TV SHOWS, THE SEAL TEAM STAR AND FATHER OF TWO IS TAKING A MUCH-NEEDED BREATHERBUT ADMITS HE CAN'T SIT STILL FOR TOO LONG

On a July day in New York City, actor David Boreanaz was doing what plenty of parents around the country do this time of year: helping his son Jaden, 22, move out of his college apartment. “It was like a tornado,” the SEAL Team star, 55, says with a laugh, noting that his son is off to pursue creative passions after a few years at New York University. “It was definitely a test of patience. Parenting is a fascinating journey, and it never gets easier.”

Boreanaz, who also shares daughter Bella, 14, with his wife, Jaime, was in town from Los Angeles celebrating the seventh and final season of his military drama SEAL Team, which launches Aug. 11 on Paramount+. The actor feels content with wrapping up the show now.

“Character-wise, I completed Jason Hayes’s journey full circle,” he says. He adds that physically, he was ready to call it quits. “My body just can’t do it,” he admits. “Playing a Navy SEAL is a bit much. I think I’ve had four MRIs in the past four months, for my knees, hips, shoulders. It’s been quite a journey.”
