These comforting, homey dishes make easy desserts for a crowd—especially when you serve them right from the cooker!

Strawberry Crisp

You can use less sugar in this, depending on how sweet your berries are.

1 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup (1 stick) butter Butter or oil, for cooker

4 cups sliced fresh strawberries

½ cup sugar

1. In a large bowl, combine oats, flour and brown sugar. Cut butter into chunks and work into dry ingredients with your fingers until crumbly. Divide crumbs in half. Place half into bottom of greased 4-quart cooker. Press down to form crust.

2. In a separate bowl, gently mix together strawberries and sugar. Spoon strawberries evenly over crust. Scatter remaining half of crumb mixture over strawberries.

3. Cook on High 2 to 3 hours, or until firm in center and bubbly around edges.

4. Remove lid carefully to keep condensation on inside of lid from dripping onto crisp. Continue cooking on High another 30 minutes to allow crisp to firm on top.

5. Remove crock from cooker and place on baking rack to cool. Serve warm or at room temperature. Serves 6
