April - May 2025

It’s been just four years since she stepped into the industry, and, already, she’s making the leap from promising newcomer to full-fledged star. But, through all the applause and accolades, SHARVARI is still the same ‘Dadar chi mulgi’ – warm, effervescent, and flashing that million-dollar smile we've all come to love

She's ALL That!

Our cover star for this month has been clocking in relentless hustle over the past few years. An out-and-out Mumbai girl with an enduring love for movies, she was well on her way to becoming a civil engineer – until life threw her a curveball. A casual decision to participate in the Times Fresh Face 2013 competition (initially, just to skip a chemistry lab lecture) unexpectedly cracked open a door to an entirely different world for Sharvari. It wasn’t the thrill of winning that stayed with her; it was the electric rush of being under the spotlight, of performing, of finally feeling at home in a space she hadn't even dared to dream about. And when her parents, watching her light up, asked if this was what she truly wanted to pursue, it became a defining moment. One filled with courage, clarity, and the realisation that maybe, just maybe, the dream wasn't so far-fetched after all.

It's easy to frame this moment as a pivotal chapter in Sharvari’s story. After all, that’s how we're taught to view life: a perfect arc, with beginnings, middles, and ends neatly stitched together. Just the way it plays out on screen. But real life is far less linear. It's more like scattered moments that only reveal their true meaning in hindsight — often making us pause to wonder: “Is this really my life?” That's exactly how Sharvari chooses to see hers.

It all started with her effortlessly stealing the show at family sangeets, mundans, school plays, and summer theatre workshops. “My parents would always say, ‘Who's performing? Oh, it's our daughter,” she recalls with a laugh. “I was always that person.” That innate love for the stage led her behind the scenes, where she sharpened her storytelling instincts as an Assistant Director on films such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Bajirao Mastani, and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. But the pull to get in front of the camera was undeniable.
