It's probably a fated chain of events that introduces us to Vikkramm Chandirramani - a Mumbai-based astrologer, mystic and filmmaker with a knack for telling stories, both real and fictional.

In his 25 years of practice, Vikkramm has read over 30,000 horoscopes and counting, continuing to remain deeply engaged with the art of divination.

Although Vikkramm began practicing astrology well into adulthood, his fascination for the subject is longstanding. As a 12-year-old, he'd read the palms of friends and relatives, hoping to catch a glimpse of the future. It was in junior college however, that he began reading extensively on the subject, and started to analyse birth and planetary charts. A budding web developer at the time, and one of the first few to discover the growing power of the Internet, Vikkramm registered his website Futurescopes.com, and formally began his astrology practice.

I have to admit, I had a lot of questions for Vikkramm. So to start, he gives me a lowdown of the foundations of astrology. “In astrology, every birth chart is divided into twelve houses - each representing a different area of life. What makes astrology fascinating - and also complex - is that each house can signify a vast, almost infinite range of events. The same applies to zodiac signs. Each sign embodies a spectrum of meanings that don’t always manifest in the same way - it depends on the context, timing, and the individual's unique life circumstances. Astrology is about understanding how and when a particular energy will show up in someone’s life.”
