An inspiration to many in the wine industry, winemaker Sue Hodder is notching up 30 years at Wynns as they release luxury wines as part of their 2022 Premium Release

Congratulations on 30 years at Wynns! Why did you want to get into the wine industry and how did you get started?

Thank you! I'm so proud to have been part of the Wynns story for this time. I always wanted to be associated with the land, living on the land and producing something. And I love wine, so the two are my ideal career and life.

What do you think have been the biggest changes during that time?

First and foremost, the biggest change is climate change and all it entails. It informs everything we do now, including our approach to water, land and winemaking. In the last 30 years we've also seen an increased interest in new wine varietals. However, as a classic label, cabernet sauvignon remains our heartland, and we see so much potential for research and innovation with the varietal.
