After losing her 21-year-old son, Beckett, to addiction in 2020, the “Come to My Window” singer decided to address her grief head-on with her latest album, Rise. “I knew I would have to write about that,” she told Us at CMA Fest in Nashville on June 5. “It was my job to find a way to understand that he came into this life, he made his choices and it wasn’t up to me to save him.” Here, Etheridge opens up about Beckett, her recent 65th birthday and her 12-year marriage to Linda Wallem.
