For better or worse, these celebrity couples gave marriage another try after divorcing

Johnson and Griffith were just 22 and 18, respectively, when they first wed in 1976 (they parted ways six months later). Their second attempt at marriage in 1989 lasted much longer — seven years — but ultimately ended in divorce as well. 

“I love Melanie,” said the Miami Vice alum in 2021. “When you have a child with someone — whether you’re married or not — you’re with that someone forever. And I’m OK with that.”

So nice they did it twice! Van Damme and the former pro bodybuilder walked down the aisle in 1987 and again in 1999. Despite nearly splitting in 2015, they’re still together. “The couple has to work [on] their stuff together no matter what they have to do,” said the Belgium-born action star. “Divorcing before is not funny for the children, the people [or the] parents.”
