'Consistency! That's what works for me. I have my routine'

Media star Coleen Rooney on her fitness regime, birthday celebrations and her new wellness launch

In a month's time Coleen Rooney will hit a major milestone as she turns 40.

But the TV star and wife of former footballer Wayne certainly doesn't sound worried about the ageing process or missing her youth.

"I'm looking forward to it," she says of the big day on 3 April. "I love a birthday and a celebration. I've decided to enjoy a couple of different celebrations with family and friends over the year. With my birthday falling over Easter weekend, some friends are away, so any opportunity to extend the celebrations."

Family is always at the centre of Coleen's life and the forefront of her mind, and a lot of her time is still spent, like many mums, taking her boys to school and friends' houses and football matches.

She is a proud mother to Cass, eight, Kit, 10, Klay, 12, and Kai, 16, and says she tries to let them live their own lives and doesn't offer them too much advice.

"Wayne and I have always wanted the boys to have good manners and be kind. They all have different personalities and are growing up so quickly, but for us, we just want the boys to work hard and be happy."

All four enjoy playing football like dad Wayne and Kai is now following in his footsteps playing at Manchester United in their Under 18s team.

While Wayne had his fair share of injuries and setbacks during his long career, Coleen says watching him was easy compared to watching her sons.
