MOST people worry about loved ones working themselves to death, but Mark Harmon’s pals are afraid his retirement may be leading him to an early grave, sources tell The National ENQUIRER — and now they’re begging him to stop blowing up over small irritations.

As these exclusive photos reveal, the famously short-tempered NCIS vet, 73, was involved in a tense talk with a mystery lady in L.A. on April 4. He was clearly getting more upset as the conversation wore on, at points covering his face and shielding his eyes in frustration.

“No one knows what caused the episode, but it’s distressing,” dishes an insider.
