Back with a new album and fresh perspective, Meghan Trainor celebrates her hard-won confidence in a stunning photoshoot

MADE YOU LOOK

Meghan Trainor is glowing – and not just because she’s starring in a glossy new Fashion magazine cover shoot.

It’s rooted in something deeper: a sense of balance she hasn’t felt in years. The singer and mom of two has worked hard to reclaim her physical and emotional health, learning what lifts her up and drains her, as well as redefining confidence on her own terms. The result is a quieter, steadier kind of happiness – one she’s proud to have earned.

It wasn’t always the case. When Meghan hit the big time in 2014 after co-writing and recording “All About That Bass” – a demo she never expected would leave the studio - she wasn’t quite ready for what followed. Her little tongue-in-cheek ditty became a global number-one hit, earning her a Grammy and transforming Meghan from a behind-the-scenes songwriter into one of the most visible young pop stars in the world. The sudden spotlight brought world tours and industry accolades – Michael Bublé, who featured Meghan on his 2016 album, Nobody But Me, described her to Hello! Canada as “the most talented 21-year-old in the world.” But it also brought with it intense scrutiny.

imageNow 31, Meghan has often spoken about how overwhelming that transition was, how praise and criticism arrived hand in hand and how the pressure contributed to years of anxiety, panic attacks and a sense that she had to grow up “too fast.”

Yet that early shock wave of fame also shaped her outspoken approach: rather than retreat, she leaned into authenticity, choosing transparency as her armour.
