Canadian singer Jully Black marries her love, Marcus L. Valentine, at a dreamy destination wedding in Jamaica

'A REAL FAIRYTALE'

Jully Black always radiates positivity and warmth. Her smile, her laugh – it's contagious! But that newlywed glow has taken the Canadian singer-songwriter to the next level.

The Juno-winning R&B superstar recently married the man of her dreams – former U.S. Marine Corps sergeant Marcus L. Valentine, or “Valentine” – in a tropical destination ceremony, and Hello! Canada caught up with the newly minted Mr. and Mrs. just days after their nuptials.

imageChatting from their blissful overwater villa at Princess Senses The Mangrove in Green Island in Jamaica, the couple couldn't stop smiling, giggling and snuggling into each other. “We feel very blessed,” says Jully, 47, as she points out the glass floor in their suite, which offers a view of the water and fish below. “We walked right into the ocean [from our room],” Jully shares excitedly. “All the fish scattered, but now we can see them from above.”

imageJamaica was the perfect choice for their wedding and honeymoon. The sweethearts met by chance on a Jamaican cruise in 2023 and Jully's late mom, Agatha, was born on the Caribbean island, so it made sense to have their family and friends join them at the meaningful location. The days-long celebration - which included an incredible bachelorette trip and several bonding activities with their guests - culminated in a loving exchange of vows.
