The Princess of Wales gets hands on with her own personal selection of art at the new V&A East Storehouse

The Princess of Wales went behind the scenes last week at a new museum that enables visitors to order objects from its storage spaces – “like an Uber” - and view them close up.

Kate was visiting the new V&A East Storehouse in Stratford, London, to learn about its “order an object” system, whereby paintings, furniture, books and sculptures dating back centuries can be requested for closer inspection.

The Princess, who is patron of the V&A, mingled with fellow art lovers and ordered objects from the collection, including a sample book by textiles designer William Morris, a musical instrument and objects themed around nature.
