The Prince of Wales explains why it's 'crucial' that his children learn music as he and the Princess remember the late Queen

The Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at her husband's side last week as she joined him for an engagement on the third anniversary of his grandmother's death.

Kate was an unexpected guest as Prince William visited the National Federation of Women's Institutes in Sunningdale, Berkshire, where he told members: "I can't quite believe it's been three years already."

The Princess - in a plaid dress by Alessandra Rich, grey Boss pumps and Kiki McDonough earrings – beamed as she and William chatted to members over tea and cake.

Sharing a glimpse of family life, Kate revealed that she and her children had been "crafting in every corner of the house" over the summer holidays. William added that Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, ten, and Prince Louis, seven, were "thankfully" back at school.
