New Stanford U study

MOM was right — too much sugar can rot your brain, a new study suggests. Researchers at Stanford University found glucose may impede the organ’s ability to create new neurons to replace older ones that phase out due to age or experience damage from disease, strokes or injury.
Neurons enable humans to think, feel and act by transmitting signals throughout the body. But their decline can contribute to memory loss and reduced cognitive function — and worsen neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
