SUMMER beachgoers in New England are about to be scared stiff — because scientists say the biggest great white shark ever spotted off the East Coast is heading their way!

Contender, a 14-foot monster weighing 1,653 pounds, was tagged with an electronic monitor by scientists and is now swimming up the coast to its summer-fall foraging grounds off the northeastern U.S. and southern Canada.
