CHAOS erupted on a Mexican airliner as a desperate man took a flight attendant hostage and tried to hijack the plane to the U.S. but heroic crew members and passengers saved the day! On the morning of Dec. 8, the Volaris Airlines jet took off from the central Mexican city of León, headed to Tijuana.

But after it was airborne, eyewitnesses say a 31-year-old Mexican national identified only as Mario grabbed a female flight attendant, put a pen to her throat and threatened to open the door and jump out with his hostage - unless the plane changed course for the U.S.! "He grabbed the handle and actually managed to crack the door open," recalls passenger Geraldo Gonzalez. "There were people screaming, crying, pleading with the man not to do it.
