The Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla 2025, held at the JW Marriott, Kolkata, was an unforgettable evening, brimming with joy, creativity, and heartfelt recognition, as the stars of Bengali cinema came together to celebrate the magic of their craft. It was a night of shining moments, where talent was honoured, friendships were strengthened, and the spirit of cinema was alive and thriving.

The evening saw the legendary Biswajit Chatterjee honoured with the prestigious Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, a fitting tribute to a career that has transcended both Hindi and Bengali cinema. The standing ovation he received was a reflection of the deep respect and admiration he commands in the industry. His son, megastar Prosenjit, was unfortunately busy shooting at Hampi and hence couldn't attend the event. Biswajit, who currently resides in Mumbai, recalled that he has many fond memories of his days in Kolkata and added that he’s missing many who shared his journey when he was acting here.

In a deeply touching moment, Rituparna Sengupta paid her respects to the icon by touching his feet. Biswajit shared a warm greeting with Mamta Shankar too, the duo chatted fondly for a few moments about the days gone by. Mamta expressed her gratitude for her role in Bijoyar Pore. The film, which marked her first collaboration with director Abhijit SriDas, earned her the Best Actress (Critics) award. She thanked Abhijit for entrusting her with such an important character and guiding her through the difficult role like a veteran, despite it being his first film.
